Morvexa began as a side project between reporting jobs and grew into a standing practice for independent writers across Indonesia.
Our story
From a newsroom desk to an independent practice
Morvexa grew out of years spent editing on tight newsroom deadlines, where a second read was often the difference between a solid piece and a shaky one. Leaving that newsroom didn't mean giving up the habit — it meant offering it to writers who no longer had an editor down the hall.
Based in Bali, the practice now works with reporters and small outlets across the archipelago and beyond, most of them writing without an institution behind them.
The approach stays the same regardless of the piece: read carefully, ask before assuming, and leave the final call with the writer.
